WE ARE ALL EQUAL

It took years for women to achieve their rights and fair treatment from people. They fight for it until the discrimination slowly fade our society. Until now, discrimination still exists but when we base how they treat women back then, it is far different from how they treat women right now. It improved! The society let women do their own actions and decisions in life. They can be the leaders now because BABAE SILA, HINDI BABAE LANG!

March is Women’s History Month in a lot of countries including the US. In the Philippines, it is often referred to by the government as National Women’s Month and represents the time of year when women’s advancement becomes more important in the public consciousness. In addition, it aims to discuss women’s empowerment and to improve gender equality.

The said celebration was participated not only by women but also millions of men. This year’s celebration was fabulous. They conducted a program named Juana Laban sa Pandemya: Kaya! through different social media platforms. With this program, netizens, especially Juana that symbolizes Filipino women, got the chance to share their inspiring stories during this pandemic. It is a big opportunity to improve gender equality and to inspire other Juana to be stronger and remain hopeful during this pandemic. This celebration is also a venue to discuss and address the issues that women continue to face so empowerment can be fully achieved. The campaign is also a call for concrete, sustainable, and inclusive actions towards gender equality.

March is indeed National Women’s Month! Through Juana Laban sa Pandemya: Kaya! and other various activities, women especially Juana had the courage to share their experiences in life to educate and inspire other people. They are starting to raise their voices by leaving meaningful lessons and messages about their experiences. We want to stop the mistreatment towards women. It is time for us to accept and respect each other. A quote in the internet caught my attention and I hope that all of us will keep it in our minds; “Gender Equality is a HUMAN FIGHT not a Female Fight”. Because I do believe that “WE ARE EQUAL”.
