Our Safety Is In Our Own Hands!
Hearing news about an earthquake occurring in some part of our country is not new to us. The Philippines, our country, is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire so we are prone to natural disasters like volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. According to the records of Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), an average of 20 earthquakes a day and 100 to 150 earthquakes are felt per year in our country. We should be prepared because an earthquake can occur anytime. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) conduct the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) to train and teach us the things we should do if ever an earthquake occur in our place. I think the importance of participating or taking part of this NSED program of the government is for us to know how to react appropriately in this tragic situation.
