Students are used of face-to-face learning. Because of COVID-19, students suddenly experienced a new normal learning which is modular learning or online classes. As a student who is used to the face-to-face learning, I can say that it is really hard for me to adapt the new normal learning in the first day or week of this school year. But I learned and discovered that I have the ability to understand the lesson by myself. I learned to manage my time in answering all of my modules. But I still encounter problems and challenges.          I admit that I was easily distracted because of the noises I hear in my surroundings. I struggled in accomplishing my modules because I am not sure what would be the answer for those tasks. Sometimes, I have a hard time understanding the lessons because I can only teach myself unlike in face-to-face learning, I can ask anything to the teacher. But luckily, I’m still here… still fighting and survivi...

Raise Our Awareness

Image
The Earth is slowly changing. Some animals are already extinct and some are at risk of being extinct. The forests are destroyed and slowly decreasing. The temperature is rising. Climate change is already happening in our world.          Global warming is the increase of average world temperatures as a result of what is known as the greenhouse effect. Certain gases in the atmosphere act like glass in a greenhouse, allowing sunlight through to heat the Earth’s surface but trapping the heat as it radiates back into space. As the greenhouse gases build up in the atmosphere, the Earth gets hotter. This process is leading to a rapid change in climate also known as climate change.           Before bad things will happen in our world, let us cooperate and do our part to save Mother Earth. Let’s create awareness on global warming and climate change. But what can we do? How can we create awareness about these issue...

Our Safety Is In Our Own Hands!

Hearing news about an earthquake occurring in some part of our country is not new to us. The Philippines, our country, is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire so we are prone to natural disasters like volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. According to the records of Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), an average of 20 earthquakes a day and 100 to 150 earthquakes are felt per year in our country. We should be prepared because an earthquake can occur anytime.         The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) conduct the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) to train and teach us the things we should do if ever an earthquake occur in our place. I think the importance of participating or taking part of this NSED program of the government is for us to know how to react appropriately in this tragic situation. It is important for us to be educated about the safety precautions that we need to follow in times...

The COVID-19 has created a big damage in our country. The COVID-19 pandemic has created the largest disruption of education systems in history, affecting nearly 1.6 billion learners in more than 190 countries and all continents.            Education is not only a fundamental human right. It is an enabling right with direct impact on the realization of all other human rights. It is a global common good and a primary driver of progress across all 17 Sustainable Development Goals as a bedrock of just, equal, inclusive peaceful societies. When education systems collapse, peace, prosperous and productive societies cannot be sustained.          The Department of Education (DepEd) made a move to continue the education in our country. They are trying their best to provide all the learners quality education despite this pandemic we are experiencing now. A quality education is one that provides the learners wi...

Get Ready Philippines!

Nowadays, we are suffering a crisis. This is caused by the coronavirus. It has brought lot of challenges to the world. The continuous spread of COVID is a big warning to every country. Almost all of the country had to shut down their economies to stop the spread of the virus. One of these countries is the Philippines. It have taken strict measures by implementing the Enhanced Community Quarantine on March 15, 2020.         The Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) did help in preventing the spread of the virus. The Philippine government is convincing everyone to stay home to minimize the contact of people in a crowd because COVID-19 is an invisible enemy. The Philippines is already flattening the curve. The idea of slowing the spread of virus so that fewer people need to seek treatment at any given time is known as "flattening the curve". That's the reason why the Philippines experienced lockdown. The cases of COVID in our country is no long...

Dear President Duterte, Fantastic! Just the thought of writing a letter to you, Mr. President…is already a great honor! Just the idea of getting noticed by you, the president of the Philippines…oh bizarre! I feel overwhelmed to communicate with you…you who turned the Philippines into a better one.   The government is doing its ‘best’. And talking about one’s best: lately, you, Mr. President is doing a move to stop or lessen the burden of COVID in our country. You are better than the previous presidents. I know that your responsibility is stressful and tiring but you’re still doing your best to keep us safe. I salute you for that Mr. President! As you move forward, the haters or bashers are trying to pull you down. But you just continue your responsibility as president to show them that they were wrong about the things they said about you.         A  few years ago, you started a war on drugs. It caused too many damages or pain to the involved ...

God created us for a reason. He formed us just like him. We have the same physical appearances but the inside…there are the differences! You…I…We have our best description to ourselves. I wonder what would it be.          Hello! I’m Israela Luz Merabil. I was born in Haifa,Israel. It is hard for me to introduce myself because I didn’t know where to start. Give me a few seconds to think what details should I share to you. Aha! I’ll just focus in my personality.         Growing up without a father is not easy but I still feel complete because the Rebullo family, my family, is always there for me. I’m a happy person. I really love making people happy especially those who I cherish. I’m an introvert. An introvert is someone who prefers calm, minimally stimulating environments. Introverts tend to feel drained after socializing and regain their energy by spending time alone. Being an introvert is perfectly normal. It is hard for me to make d...
