Strive Harder!

The COVID-19 has created a big damage in our country. The COVID-19 pandemic has created the largest disruption of education systems in history, affecting nearly 1.6 billion learners in more than 190 countries and all continents.

Education is not only a fundamental human right. It is an enabling right with direct impact on the realization of all other human rights. It is a global common good and a primary driver of progress across all 17 Sustainable Development Goals as a bedrock of just, equal, inclusive peaceful societies. When education systems collapse, peace, prosperous and productive societies cannot be sustained.

The Department of Education (DepEd) made a move to continue the education in our country. They are trying their best to provide all the learners quality education despite this pandemic we are experiencing now. A quality education is one that provides the learners with capabilities they require to become economically productive, develop sustainable societies and enhance individual well-being.

Face-to-face classes are not allowed right now because of this crisis. There are flexible learning approach like modular learning and online learning to continue the education of the students. The challenge of these is there are some students who have poor internet connection so they have a hard time to catch up lessons but despite that, they are still trying to response or participate in this learning approach of DepEd. Some students and parents are fine with it but some are questioning it. Is the students really learn the lesson? Or they are just answering their modules to pass? Oh! I don't have a comment for that so let's skip it.

I know we are facing a big battle right now. It was hard for everybody especially to the students like me. We don't have enough gadgets or materials for this New Normal of Education but let us do our part. Let's do our best! Let's strive even if we are experiencing this crisis. Don't mind this pandemic and just continue learning! We can do it! Just strive harder!
